KULE Uganda Restarting

By The KULE Team | 31st January, 2023

KULE Foundation International is thrilled to extend its activities to Uganda, Geoffrey’s country of birth.

As some of you may know, planning has been in the works for quite some time to expand KULE’s programming. It is with great enthusiasm that we are officially sharing this development with you now! We expect to welcome our first cohort of KULE Uganda participants this coming summer, 16-30 June 2023. What will that entail?

KULE has had a longstanding commitment to education, international and intercultural understanding, poverty eradication, community development, leadership, and personal responsibility – all values which will remain at the forefront of our programming in Uganda. However, KULE Uganda will be distinctive in its emphasis on women’s empowerment. To this end, we will be partnering with Somero-Uganda (somero-uganda.org) to revive* their project of empowering vulnerable girls and young mothers through vocational skills training (e.g., computer training, tailoring, photography and so on). We will also be engaging with other intercultural endeavours like the feminine hygiene project, workshops and discussion groups, helping in an orphanage, and cultural exchange activities like the pen pal project and visits to schools. Depending on demand, the program will culminate in a safari at an extra cost.

*= Please help us to raise US$10,000 for this project.
